The capital city of Queensland, Brisbane, is the third most visited city in Australia. And it’s not hard to see why. Located on the winding Brisbane River, it boasts of a sub-tropical climate with hot, humid summers and warm dry winters. The bustling city is showered with sophisticated bars and restaurants and is a shoppers paradise as it is home to numerous shopping malls with some of the some of the most recognisable retailers in the world such as Tiffany’s and Co., Polo Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss to name a few. Brisbane also has many activities on offer. Why not climb the Story Bridge, one the three bridges in the world you can climb, or try rock climbing at Kangaroo Point cliffs. You could paddle a kayak or drive a jet ski down the river, or jump on the CityCat down to Southbank and sunbathe on the manmade beach or have a barbeque by the Parklands. The City’s Botanical Gardens offer beautiful sights including the striking mangroves resting in the river. Have a true Aussie experience by visiting Brisbane’s Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can cuddle a koala bear and feed the kangaroos. Brisbane also acts as a base to other popular Australian hotspots as it is only an hour’s bus ride from the Gold Coast and a short flight from the Great Barrier Reefs, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. There’s so much going on in Brisbane that you truly won’t want to leave.
