Whether you’re looking for romance, history, or fun in the sun, you are sure to find all that and more in Italy.  Famous for its ancient historic background and its delicious cuisine, Italy is a big hit with tourists and makes a popular choice for a weekend break or a summer or winter holiday.  But believe it or not, there’s so much more to Italy than architectural gems and scrumptious food! For a summer holiday, head down to the beautiful Lake Garda, Italy’s biggest and most popular lake which sits close to the city of Verona.  Here you can enjoy gelato in the sunshine at a café overlooking the lake and relish the beautiful views or even go for a relaxing swim in the lake itself.  Water-sports and outdoor activities are aplenty here making this area perfect for families. But if you’re looking for more extreme sports, head towards the north of Italy where you will find the Italian Alps with their fantastic ski resorts which boast of breath-taking views of the white powdery mountains. If you’re a beach lover then head down to the south coast of Italy where you will find stunning beaches with clear blue waters in the likes of Sardinia and Sicily!  Central Italy is extremely popular with visitors as it offers rich history and culture teamed with spectacular architecture and world famous landmarks. The capital city of Rome makes a great weekend break as here you can visit The Vatican, St Peters Basilica, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and so much more. And what’s best is that you can explore all this on foot through the city’s enchanting cobbled streets.  But be sure to stop and dine al fresco on traditional Italian pizza, pasta and whatever else takes your fancy. With so much on offer in Italy, it’s hard not to fall in love and we’re sure you’ll want to return again and again!

"Venice is a captivating city and it’s definitely worth staying overnight so you that can enjoy its magic in the evening when the crowds of tourists have dispersed. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity sitting in a café at dust in Piazza San Marcos." Gemma Meenan Marketing Coordinator
